About Us
I was luckily enough to grow up with animals, including my first childhood dog a mixture x silky named Scamp, Thats where my love of animals began. In that time i was surrounded by breeding budgies in a aviary and a pet cat. As i got older around the age of 9 we got a new dog, he was found dumped on a local corner street as a puppy. He was my first purebred Cattle dog, named Bluey.
I then went onto to begin training him in obedience after i finshed year 10 in 1996 at Macarthur Dog Training Club - Kearns NSW,About 2years later he became to be my first trialling dog in obedience, and we came close to gaining the first novice pass, At this time i began instructing classes at my dog training club and have continued right through to 2008. I retired him in 2002, when i got my first show dog a Australian Shepherd. This is when Amber came along a pretty red tri girl, from Mandy Lees of Leesway Kennels.
Amber became to be my first show dog and introduced me to the world of dog shows, which i enjoyed immensly,Amber also went to Obedience and Agility/Jumping trials also,She has done extremely well in Agility/Jumping it is the area where she loves the most.
In 2005,I got my second show dog Blitz, a stunning Blue merle boy he is co owned with Ms Kerry Webb.Blitz came to me after i sadly had to put my 14y/o cattle dog to sleep, due to sudden Epilepsy.
Blitz came to be the "star of the show" in the Show/Obedience ring,He always loves to be the centre of attention and so full of himself.
I have also done animal studies at tafe and at home to broaden my levels of knowledge and experience with domestic pets.
I plan to keep up to date with the DNA tests as they become available for my breed,So i am only breeding healthy stock.
This kennel will never breed mini and toys, we will endeavour to preserve the standard of quality australian shepherds.
From the USA Australian Shepherd Club
The United States Australian Shepherd Association
Statement concerning the Miniature Australian Shepherd, and the Toy Australian Shepherd.
Recently there has been a rise in the movement to breed miniature and toy versions of the Australian Shepherd.
The Miniature Australian Shepherd and the Toy Australian Shepherd are not recognized or considered varieties of the Australian Shepherd by this organization, the United States Australian Shepherd Association, Inc. (USASA), or by the American Kennel Club (AKC). Since these dogs are not AKC registered, they cannot be verified by USASA as purebred, and therefore are not considered Australian Shepherds by this organization.
The USASA does not support the purposeful breeding of Miniature Australian Shepherds and Toy Australian Shepherds, and expects all members who have breeding programs to breed to the USASA/AKC recognized standard of excellence. The USASA further expects all members to be ever vigilant in the preservation and protection of the Australian Shepherd.
